a pleasant drive along the German Autobahn we pass Bonn, the former
German Capital.
At Königswinter, a romantic wine-grower village with
attractive shops and restaurants, we offer the opportunity to take the
funicular railway to the top of the legendary Drachenfels
in order to
enjoy the breathtaking views of the Rhinevalley, the Siebengebirge and
the Eifel mountainrange.
After
lunch we drive to Cologne. This brisk city has become worldfamous for
its cathedral (Dom). We visit the old center with Roman towers,
medieval city gates and romanesque churches.
