With this distinction granted by the EDEN-network of the European Commission, Leuven  leaves even Rome and London behind. The city boasts one of the oldest universities in Europe. This fascinating truly medieval city with stately university buildings should be in your bucket list. Leuven boasts the most beautiful city hall in the country and it is also the city  where Belgians brew their Stella Artois and Leffe beers.
