Bruges

Description

Less is more! This is an excursion  for guests who want to visit Bruges at a slow pace and who wish to embrace the feel of the city. We bring together small parties (< 20 pax.) of like-minded guests.  All indoor visits to the highlights are included. You have ample free time to pursue your own interests: a visit to museums, shopping etc. Your guide will also find out about your individual interests so that he can give you loads of hints for things to do off the beaten track during your time off.  

The entire city is UNESCO heritage. Driving to Bruges you will hear about the rise and decline  of the city. Your guide takes you to the beguinage (a community of lay religious women) where you will  Visit the chapel. You call at Europe’s oldest Saint John’s hospital and enjoy a guided visit of the Church of Our Lady with the tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy, the Madonna by Michelangelo and the Supper at Emmaus painted by Caravaggio.  Passing the museum of the Flemish primitives you walk to the Belfry Tower on the Market Square and the Burg Square with the Town Hall.  You visit the upper and lower Basilica of the Holy Blood… The highlight of the day will be the boat tour along the canals of Bruges.
